Boca Grande is on Gasparilla Island. Gasparilla was the nickname of Jose Gaspar, the “last of the buccaneers”, a famous pirate. Jose may have been fictitious, but nobody knows for sure. There are many versions of who he was and what he did. Real or not, he is the inspiration for Tampa's annual Gasparilla Festival.
The island has been one of my favorite places on the planet to photograph weddings. I have photographed well over 100 of them and I have loved shooting everyone!

Every wedding is unique and a beach wedding in Naples on the sugary white sand offers romance beyond fairy tales. Imagine exchanging vows on the beach as the brilliant Florida sun slowly sets over the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
It’s not every day you have two fighter jets do a fly over a wedding ceremony. The groom, who is a golf pro, had only one request. I was one of the few that knew about it and I had to be ready to get this perfect shot.

Tucked away on the southern tip of Gasparilla Island, the Boca Bay Pass Club is one of Southwest Florida's best kept secrets.
Located on the Gulf of Mexico, it has spectacular sunsets. On many occasions we have seen dolphins swimming by. The event planner and I take credit for the show, the guests laugh when we tell them it was all pre-planned!

The Beach Club is located on Gasparilla Island. The island is one of my favorite places and there are many venues to choose from.
The Gasparilla Inn Beach Club features a family pool with changing facilities and a sparkling white sand beachfront. A spacious, glass enclosed dining room for lunch and late afternoon food and beverage service is also available to resort guests. The spacious and picturesque Gulf Room is available for private functions, as well as weddings. The Gasparilla Inn Spa, The James Griffith Salon, Lap Pool, and a fully equipped Fitness Center and Exercise Studio are also part of the resort’s expansive Beach Club complex.
